Join Deacon Kurt Godfryd as we journey toward the gift of Christmas…
In the Gospel of Mark (8:18), Jesus says, “Do you have eyes and not see, ears and not hear?” In every way, Jesus’ words provide us with what should be our disposition throughout the holy season of Advent! For Advent is a time in which we prepare our hearts and minds for the anniversary of Our Lord’s birth and His second coming at the end of time. On November 29, you are invitied to join Deacon Kurt Godfryd for a one-hour refletion and exploration of the advent themes of hope, faith, joy and peace. It is hoped this session will help us both open our eyes and ears to that which is truly important in our lives. There is no cost to attend and no RSVP necessary – feel free to invite a friend to join you!
Deacon Godfryd is a permanent deacon of the Archdiocese of Detroit and assigned to the Northeast North Macomb 3 Family of Parishes that includes St. Clement of Rome (Romeo), St. John Vianney (Shelby Twp.), and SS. John and Paul (Washington Twp). In addition to this parish responsibilities, he also serves as Associate Dean at hte University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and as a long-time lecturer in the Department of Economics at Oakland University. Deacon Godfryd is the husband of our St. Irenaeus Business Manager, Diana Godfryd, and we are excited to welcome him for this special reflection!
