Marriage Enrichment
The St. John Paul II Foundation and the Archdiocese of Detroit present Together in Holiness: a comprehensive marriage enrichment initiative that inspires spouses to grow together in holiness and empowers and equips parents to form their children in the Catholic faith. Together in Holiness includes:
- An annual, one-day Conference series for couples in dioceses
- A year-round Formation series for couples in parishes, schools, and small communities
With the Together in Holiness Formation series, small communities of spouses gather for a 7-part series that equips them with the formation, encouragement, support, and practical tools to grow together in holiness and to form their children in the Catholic faith. Please watch the trailer to learn more about this exciting opportunity!

Marriage Coaching
Marriage Coaching is a couple-to-couple mentoring program designed to invite couples to live out more fully God’s plan for their marriage. It was developed to minister to couples who are experiencing struggles in their marriages but are not yet ready to seek marriage counseling. It is also helpful for couples desiring to strengthen their marriage. Marriage Coaching is not counseling. Rather, it offers support and practical tools to couples in need to help them strengthen their marriage within the four walls of their home.

Retrouvaille
This is a Christian program, Catholic in origin: https://helpourmarriage.org
It is one of the resources recommended by the Archdiocese of Detroit: https://www.aod.org/marriage-support
We have a parishioner couple here at St. Irenaeus that is very involved with this ministry, and it has helped and saved a lot of marriages. It starts out as a weekend retreat, then there are follow-up post- weekend sessions, and eventually, (if interested), couples can participate in casual, supportive small groups. Read more below.
Retrouvaille
Retrouvaille begins with a weekend experience in which husbands and wives are helped to re-establish communication and to gain new insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple. This part of the program is presented by three married couples and a priest. The team couples, who have experienced disillusionment, pain, anger, and conflict, offer hope as they share their personal stories of struggle, reconciliation and healing. You will find courage and strength in the realization that you are not alone in your struggle. Unlike other marriage improvement programs that consist of essentially just a weekend retreat, Retrouvaille continues as a 7-week long course that enables couples to break old habits, institute new ones and permanently change their attitudes.
